The EASL Classroom

Though active learning techniques may be used in about any classroom environment, rooms designed with space and functionality for such an approach add considerably to the learning.  Under the direction of Dr. Wiebke Kuhn, Auburn University's first active learning classrooms succeeded and have led to new active learning classrooms.

Active Learning Classroom

Comfortable chairs, bright colors, space, marker boards, flat screens, and more allow students and teachers better opportunities for creativity.  Of course, with so many options, teachers need to coordinate these different modes of expression to complement rather than to confuse the learning.

Active Learning Classroom

The combination of the building's WiFi and the incorporation of Canvas turn the students' ubiquitous mobile devices into learning tools.  And the peripetetic teacher can make sure everyone stays on task.

Active Learning Classroom

The merging of new and old technologies with active learning creates a more dynamic experience for students and teachers.
